چکیده

We present a unique high magnetic field phase of the quasi-one dimensional organic conductor (TMTSF) 2 ClO 4. This phase, termed " Q-ClO 4 " , is obtained by rapid thermal quenching to avoid ordering of the ClO 4 anion. The magnetic field dependent phase of Q-ClO 4 is distinctly different from that in the extensively studied annealed material. Q-ClO 4 exhibits a spin density wave (SDW) transition at ≈ 5 K which is strongly magnetic field dependent. This dependence is well described by the theoretical treatment of Bjelis and Maki. We show that Q-ClO 4 provides a new B-T phase diagram in the hierarchy of low-dimensional organic metals (one-dimensional towards two-dimensional), and describe the temperature dependence of the of the quantum oscillations observed in the SDW phase.

Calculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method

In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...

Universal field-induced charge-density-wave phase diagram: theory versus experiment.

We suggest a theory of field-induced charge-density-wave phases, generated by high magnetic fields in quasi-low-dimensional conductors. We demonstrate that, in layered quasi-one-dimensional conductors, the corresponding critical magnetic field ratios are universal and do not depend on any fitting parameter. In particular, we find that H_{1}/H_{0} = 0.73, H_{2}/H_{0} = 0.59, H_{3}/H_{0} = 0.49, ...

H-T phase diagram and the nature of Vortex-glass phase in a quasi two-dimensional superconductor: Sn metal layer sandwiched between graphene sheets

The magnetic properties of a quasi two-dimensional superconductor, Sn-metal graphite (MG), are studied using DC and AC magnetic susceptibility. Sn-MG has a unique layered structure where Sn metal layer is sandwiched between adjacent graphene sheets. This compound undergoes a superconducting transition at Tc = 3.75 K at H = 0. The H-T diagram of Sn-MG is similar to that of a quasi two-dimensiona...

Dimensional crossover and metal-insulator transition in quasi-two-dimensional disordered conductors

We study the metal-insulator transition (MIT) in weakly coupled disordered planes on the basis of a Non-Linear Sigma Model (NLσM). Using two different methods, a renormalization group (RG) approach and an auxiliary field method, we calculate the crossover length between a 2D regime at small length scales and a 3D regime at larger length scales. The 3D regime is described by an anisotropic 3D NL...

Magnetic Properties in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Square Lattice

In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4),  ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...
